The Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village (UCHV) seeks a dynamic Group Bookings & Corporate Sales Coordinator to plan and proactively disseminate information about group bookings and corporate sales opportunities and to liaise with key client groups to realize and increase capacities in these booking and sales areas. This is a key front line position that accounts for nearly 40 per cent of total annual attendance at this open-air museum, which depicts the history of east central Alberta by telling the story of Ukrainian immigrants who settled in this region from 1892 to 1920.
The successful candidate must be results focused with strong communication, client service, and interpersonal skills to liaise with client groups. The position is also responsible to maintain client databases and source potential new client lists through sales calls, participate in content development for print and online materials, and evaluate results.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Group Bookings & Corporate Sales: you will proactively plan, implement and evaluate strategies and tactics that disseminates information about UCHV group bookings & sales opportunities to stimulate attendance to the UCHV and to ensure that appropriate, accurate and up-to-date information is available to key clients groups (education programs, group tours and/or experiential programs, facility rentals, film or photography sessions).
- Stakeholder Relations: as the first point of contact, you will utilize strong communication, client service, and interpersonal skills to liaise with client groups to determine their needs and provide recommendations on available group booking and corporate sales opportunities, including available food services offered by the Friends of the Ukrainian Village Society.
- Admissions Support: You will assist with Admissions operations by preparing reference materials and training strategies for seasonal admissions clerks in processing booking & sales activities; provide relief and/or support during peak periods of visitation (i.e. special events).
You value attention to detail and have the ability to make decisions and problem solve issues within the scope of the position. You will be able to work independently within a team environment that includes colleagues throughout the museum, the Heritage Division, and the Culture Ministry.
The successful candidate will have a two-year diploma in a related field, or combination of 1 year of education and 1 year of directly related customer service and sales experience in an attractions setting. Experience with Microsoft Office and ATMS+ booking system is required; experience in government processes and guidelines would be ideal. Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation) required. An understanding of Ukrainian culture and/or language is an asset. Must be able to lift/ carry a maximum of 18 kgs. (40 lbs.). Equivalencies will be considered.
$1,990.41 to $2,587.38 bi-weekly ($51,949 to $67,530 per year)
This position will be required to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends and statutory holidays (summer). Successful candidates will be required to undergo security screening. A valid class 5 driver's license is required for this position.
