Northwest Region Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) requires an experienced, highly-motivated, and results-oriented individual to play a key role in providing coordination and support to the Regional Director and the NW regional leadership team, and to lead the NW PDD administrative support team.
As the successful candidate you will report directly to the Regional Director and provide a range of administrative support functions to effectively meet the needs of the Regional Director and management. Duties of this role will include but are not limited to: drafting correspondence including briefing notes and responses to action requests, organizing agendas and events, assisting in the preparation, taking and distribution of minutes, coordinating travel arrangements, and fulfilling requests for information to senior government officials. You will also communicate and liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and program support staff to assist in the smooth flow of information. This position also supervises up to four administrative staff as well as providing administrative support for the human resource and staffing activities within the region.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, initiative, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strategic planning and problem solving abilities and a commitment to working in a team environment. Strong time management skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize competing demands in order to carry out duties in a timely and accurate fashion are necessary to succeed in this position. The ability and understanding to work independently in a politically-sensitive environment and liaise with ministry staff at all levels as well as external stakeholders is essential.
Ideally, you will have an understanding of Government of Alberta administrative processes and practices, knowledge of the programs and services provided by the PDD branch, and knowledge of information and privacy legislation.

Business/Office Administration diploma plus three years administrative management experience. Experience supervising is an asset.
$1,758.75 - $2,153.31 Bi-Weekly
