Do you have a sincere commitment to the quality of child care that our children receive in the Red Deer area? If so, we want to hear from you!
Drawing upon your experience in delivery of a financial support or related program, key responsibilities will include interpretation of policy and procedures to determine applicant eligibility and approval of subsidy applications for those who meet the program criteria. You will also monitor and update client eligibility based on changes to income, reason for care, and family structure. Your knowledge of child and family services programs will help you to support families by initiating appropriate referrals to other resources and agencies.
As the ideal candidate, you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills to ensure that the needs of clients are being met appropriately. You will exercise professionalism, initiative, and a commitment to working in a team environment. An ability to exercise considerable judgment for making sound decisions, a strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy are essential.
High school diploma in addition to 3 years related experience in benefits administration is required. Please clearly indicate the length of time, in months, of your related experience. An understanding of the Child Care Subsidy Program and a general knowledge of accounting and other financial benefit programs is preferred. Fluency in languages other than English is an asset.
Equivalencies will be considered.
$1,758 to $2,153 bi-weekly
This is a 6 month wage opportunity. This competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same or lower classification level across the Government of Alberta. Final candidates will be required to undergo the security screening process.
