Our ministry currently has opportunities for a Human Resource Consultant, who demonstrates an ability to build and develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This will aid with the successful deliver of sound business advice in the primary areas of recruitment, employee/labor relations and job evaluation.
Key to the Human Resource Consultant role is understanding our clients' business needs, constantly striving to find the best solutions to those needs. This requires strong communication skills both verbal and written, proven analytical and problem solving abilities, strong critical thinking skills, as well as the ability to evaluate multiple interrelated concepts and contextual variables to deliver sound business advice.

To be successful in the role you must demonstrate flexibility, including the ability to manage multiple tasks as well as the ability to work creatively within policies and procedures to proactively meet business goals.
A University degree in a related field is required, supplemented with at least two years of related human resources consulting experience. Directly related experience in the areas of recruitment, job evaluation and labor relations is preferred. Demonstrated experience working in a unionized and/or Public Service setting is considered an asset. Experience working with PeopleSoft or another HRIS is also an asset. Equivalencies will be considered.
$2,469.35 - $3,386.28 biweekly ($64,450 - $88,381 per annum)
This competition may be used to fill current and future permanent and temporary vacancies across the Government of Alberta. Travel within the province is required. Final candidates for this position will be asked to undergo a Security Screening. Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower classification and salary.
