Southern Alberta Child and Family Services is seeking a highly motivated Caseworker who is committed to providing strong and effective intervention services to children and families. Through case planning and management of a variety of agreements/orders (Family Enhancement, Custody, Supervisory, Temporary Guardian and Permanent Guardianship) you will negotiate appropriate concurrent plans, assess need for services and permanency planning needs. Other duties include evaluating client progress/compliance, providing family support and working with Permanent Guardianship Order (PGO) children in their transition into adulthood.
You will also be responsible, as required, to complete in-depth and comprehensive reports of applicants who are interested in fostering, adopting or providing kinship care to children who are under the care of the Director. You will gather and assess information from various collateral sources in order to determine the applicant?s suitability to provide such care.
The successful candidate must have the ability to assess risk and family functioning, the interest and ability to work closely with community partners, well-developed organization and time management skills as well as excellent written documentation and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor of Social Work Degree with some directly related experience working with children and families. Equivalencies will be considered. This role requires working knowledge of Microsoft products.
$2,368.82 to $3,062.14 Biweekly ($61,826 to $79,921 Annual)
This temporary salaried position is expected to have a duration of one year with the possibility of being extended. Successful applicants, who possess a BSW, MSW or Diploma in Social Work from an Alberta College, will be required to register and maintain registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers prior to commencement of employment. Significant travel is a requirement of this position therefore; the successful candidate must have a valid Alberta Driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle. Final candidates for this position will be asked to undergo a Security, Academic and Intervention Record Check. Candidates with lesser qualifications will be considered for a HSW 1 Intern role.
