Join our dynamic team of child care professionals who are committed to developing working relationships with families to gather and analyze information needed to make quality decisions to meet the needs of children and families.
As a Licensing Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all government legislation, regulations and policies involved in the administration, operation and delivery of child care programs and residential facilities are met. You will focus on issuing licenses and renewals of licenses to operators of child care programs and residential facilities as per government policies and Acts, ensuring that the facilities are complying with all necessary legislation. You will also be responsible for monitoring and inspecting residential facilities and investigating reports of non-compliance.
Related university degree plus two years directly related experience working with children and families. Experience and or education in Early Childhood Development is preferred. Computer skills in Microsoft office are required. Equivalencies will be considered. Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower classification level and salary.
The successful applicant who possesses a MSW, BSW or Diploma in Social Work is required to register and maintain registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers prior to the commencement of employment.
$2,363.84 to $3,059.51 bi-weekly.
This competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same or lower classification level across the Government of Alberta.
Significant travel is a requirement of this position; therefore, the successful candidate must have a valid Alberta Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
Final candidates for this position will be asked to undergo a security, academic and Intervention Record Check. To expedite the security screening process, please be prepared to present a Criminal Record Check that includes a Vulnerable Sector screening check at the time of the interview.
