The Provincial Archives of Alberta (PAA) preserves the collective memory of Alberta, and contributes to the protection of Albertans' rights and the sense of the Alberta identity. We have an opportunity for a skilled administrative professional to join our team.
This senior administrative position reports to the Executive Director of the Provincial Archives and will supervise up to four administrative staff. Your primary responsibilities will include leading daily support services to the Branch, coordinating budget preparation and monitoring, contract administration, and the preparation of action requests.
To be successful in this role, you will require strong competencies in:
AGILITY: Daily activities in this position will vary based on priorities and will include coding invoices, monitoring and updating budget information, preparing monthly forecasts, and assisting the Branch's management team as required.
BUILD COLLABORATIVE ENVIRONMENT: You will need to demonstrate excellent people skills as you will be responsible for supporting the Executive Director's work and collaborating with members inside and outside the Archives' team. In order to achieve this, effective communication, organization and attention to detail will be required.
DEVELOP SELF AND OTHERS: Strong leadership skills are required, as you will be supervising staff and contributing as a full member of the Branch Management Committee.
In addition to their resume, candidates are asked to include a cover letter that demonstrates at least two of the competencies outlined above. A high school diploma and at least three years of directly related office administration experience are required. Experience with records management and budget planning, monitoring and forecasting is preferred. Experience with Government and Department systems (e.g. ARTS, MyAgent, Exclaim, Electronic Payment System, and IMAGIS) are considered assets. A related diploma or certificate (e.g. Office Administration, Administrative Assistant, etc.) will also be considered an asset. Equivalencies will be considered.
$1,724.26 - $2,111.09 bi-weekly ($45,003 - $55,099 annually).
