One of the areas that helps to support this mission is the Health System Accountability and Performance Division. This Division provides strategic direction and leadership in the development of provincial policies, strategies and standards in health promotion, disease control and prevention, wellness, health surveillance, environmental health, and emergency preparedness.
Are you a registered nurse with expertise in the area of immunizations? If so the Surveillance and Assessment Branch of the Health System Accountability and Performance Division has the perfect role for you.
Working within a team of professionals you will manage multiple activities related to developing high quality immunization programs and ensuring these programs are delivered province-wide. Included within your duties would be development of strategies and policies for new and enhanced immunization programs as well as other projects that would enhance Alberta?s Immunization program. You will work both with internal and external stakeholders to provide recommendations and advice regarding all provincial immunization policies.
As the successful candidate you will have excellent analytical, organizational and project management skills. You will be able to communicate complex issues and processes effectively, both verbally and in writing. You will use exceptional critical thinking skills to research, analyze and advise internal and external contacts on programs, policies and emerging issues. Your ability to develop networks is demonstrated by your relationship building skills and will be critical to your success.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing plus 4 years of related experience with Public Health including immunization programs. Equivalences considered as follows: a Nursing Diploma plus 6 years of related experience with Public Health including immunization programs or a Master's level Nursing Degree and 3 years related experience with Public Health including immunization programs. Active registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses in Alberta is required. Knowledge of project management, policy development and program planning is preferred.
$3,060.71 to $3,898.45 bi-weekly ($79,884 to $101,749 per annum)
This is a one (1) year temporary opportunity. This competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same or lower classification and salary level.
