The Property Management Branch within Alberta Infrastructure provides facility management services for over two million square meters of government-owned space in more than 200 locations across the Province. As part of our team of Gardeners, you will assist with the planning, creating and maintaining the attractive appearance of the Government Centre grounds for clients and visitors using the grounds. Duties include: assisting in the operation of the greenhouse for annual flower production, developing plan layouts, installation and regular maintenance of flowers and the preparation of planting areas. Additionally, you will be responsible for snow and garbage removal, assisting with set up and tear down of event facilities and other regular ground maintenance duties that ensures client and visitors have a clean and safe environment when utilizing the Government Centre grounds.
To be successful in this role that involves basic supervision, you must have strong communication skills as well as be flexible and creative. Your excellent knowledge of horticultural industry practices as well as your strong organizational and time management skill will ensure the pleasing appearance of Government Centre grounds year round.
Some high school education, supplemented by horticulture or landscape related coursework plus a minimum of two years of horticultural and/or landscape experience is required. A valid WHIMS training certification is also required.
$1,617.63 to $1,915.99 bi-weekly ($42,220 to $50,007 per annum)
