As a Correctional Peace Officer, you will perform a variety of security functions to ensure the safe care, custody and control of inmates as well as the safety of staff and the public. In this busy environment, you will supervise inmates, monitor inmate movement, conduct patrols of the physical plant and maintain logbooks and inmate records. You will use your well-developed interpersonal skills and professionalism to establish and maintain positive relations with inmates, staff and the public. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate their leadership, conflict management, problem-solving and social awareness skills.
This competition may be used to fill furture vacancies.
High School Diploma with several years' related experience. Completion of a related two year diploma or a related degree is preferred. Equivalencies considered.
It is recommended that applicants who have obtained educational credentials from outside of Canada and have not had them previously assessed, obtain an evaluation of their credentials from the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) -
It is recommended that applicants include the assessment certificate from IQAS or any other educational assessment service as part of their application.
$24.20 - $29.68 Per Hour
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR A VARIETY OF SHIFTS ON AN ON-CALL BASIS. HOURS OF WORK ARE NOT GUARANTEED.

WORK EXPERIENCE: Duration of employment (months and years) and specify employment status (ie. casual, part-time or full-time). EXAMPLE: January 2006 - June 2009 Loss Prevention Officer PT three 8 hour shifts/week.
POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION: length of program and major. EXAMPLE: Bachelor of Arts, 3 year Sociology degree, graduated.

- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level-C Certification;
- Current Driver's Abstract; and
- Current Criminal Records Check.
