We are looking for individuals with excellent word processing skills; who are highly organized and have strong interpersonal and communication skills to support business operations. Duties could include data entry, filing, word processing reception, handling of mail and prepare files. Opportunities are available within Probation office settings as well as possibly a Correctional Centre environment.
As this position requires the handling of information that is of a sensitive nature, a high degree of confidentiality and diplomacy is required. Your efficiency, combined with strong organizational skills, will ensure your success in managing multiple tasks and timelines in this high volume environment. Teamwork, flexibility, attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines will assist you in this position.
High School Diploma and one year related experience in an office environment is required. Experience working with Microsoft Office and database systems is required. Government/public sector experience along with knowledge of applicable government programs (ORCA, IRIS, and JOIN) is an asset. Equivalencies considered.
It is recommended that applicants who have obtained educational credentials from outside of Canada and have not had them previously assessed, obtain an evaluation of their credentials from the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) -
It is recommended that applicants include the assessment certificate from IQAS or any other educational assessment service as part of their application.
$1,437.35 - $1,749.11 BI-WEEKLY
This competition will be used to fill one Permanent AS3 role with Community Corrections Edmonton; travel will be required between various offices in Edmonton for this role. Additional Permanent, Temporary or Wage ( on call) opportunities may be available within the Corrections Division including but not limited to positions at Probation Offices as well as Correctional Centers within the Edmonton Area. You may be eligible for a Correctional Institutional Salary Allowance for each day worked. This job opening may be used to fill future vacancies within Alberta Justice and Solicitor General. Final candidates will be required to undergo a security screening.
