At the Assured Income for Severely Handicapped (AISH) we are passionate about the work we do. If you are an individual wanting to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable Albertans and supporting Albertans in experiencing the best possible quality of life then join our regional Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) team as an AISH Generalist.
The AISH program provides financial and health-related assistance to eligible adults with a permanent and severe disability.
Working closely with a team of dedicated professionals the primary role of the AISH Generalist involves; commencing new applicants; determining the continued eligibility for financial benefits; issuing benefits in accordance with applicable policies and program legislation; monitoring and updating client progress; linking clients to relevant community resources and making referrals.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys providing quality service to clients who have a variety of needs in a busy fast-paced environment,
To be successful in this role, you must have well developed communication skills to be able to work well with persons with significant communication challenges, including persons requiring alternative communication methods. Along with your communication, strong report writing and presentation skills, you will bring a demonstrated ability to analyze information, interpret policies and provide immediate crisis intervention services to de-escalate and resolve conflict.

A related University degree and one year of related recent experience is required (i.e. Social Work or Social Sciences degree). Equivalencies will be considered. Experience working with individuals with disabilities is desired. Experience determining eligibility for financial assistance programs is an asset.
$2,089.09 to $2,692.53 bi-weekly ($54,525 ? $70,275 per annum)
This is a Temporary position.
This competition may be used to fill future vacancies at a similar or lower level.
Final candidates for this competition will be asked to undergo a security screening.
Current Government (GOA) employees could be eligible for a secondment.
