North Central Alberta Child & Family Services is looking for a dynamic leader who has a sincere commitment to Intervention Services and the provision of quality services to children and families to be based out of our Westlock office. As a Casework Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising case management units and some cover off for supervising assessment services staff, as well as providing expertise and leadership within the authority. These positions will ensure that programs are delivered as directed by policy and legislation. Having a good working knowledge of casework practices, legislation, policy and procedural issues is fundamental. Further responsibilities include public education, liaison with outside agencies, staff training, recruitment and employee performance appraisals. You must also possess a good understanding of financial forecasting and expenditure tracking. You must be committed to working with community partners and developing and maintaining strong relationships with these partners. An appreciation for cultural diversity and an understanding of the Ministry initiatives as they apply to the delivery of protection services is essential. Your ability to be a leader and champion of change is critical. It is required that candidates have strong analytical skills with the ability to work within a dynamic team environment to identify and minimize service gaps. You will further bring an understanding of the unique challenge of delivering services to a district that encompasses primarily a rural population where services are accessed across Regional boundaries. This is a challenging role requiring an individual with strong leadership ability, well-developed interpersonal skills with a dedication to children and families.
Bachelor of Social Work and 2 years related experience. Equivalencies will be considered: MSW and 1 year related experience; OR related university degree and 4 years related experience; OR related diploma and 5 years related experience. Prior supervision in an Intervention Services setting would be considered an asset and would be preferred.
$2,692.53 - $3,486.76 bi-weekly
This is a permanent salaried position. As the Health Professions Act has been proclaimed, successful applicants who possess a BSW, MSW or Diploma in Social Work are required to register and maintain registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers. The successful candidate will be required to have a valid Alberta Driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle as travel will be required. Final candidates for this position will be asked to provide a Criminal Records-Vulnerable Sector check. The successful candidate will require working knowledge of Microsoft products.
