Bow Habitat Station focuses on the balanced and responsible use of Alberta's fish, wildlife and water resources. The successful candidate will be energetic with a strong knowledge of general sciences, natural resource stewardship philosophies, as well as effective educational program development and delivery strategies. The Education Programmer must possess strong interpersonal, facilitation and communication skills and be able to instruct and engage groups of various sizes and ages. Problem solving, multi-tasking and managing time appropriately is also critical to the success of this position. This successful candidate will be required to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment while handling multiple projects under tight deadlines.
As an Education Programmer at Bow Habitat Station, you will be responsible for delivering effective, efficient and engaging education programs targeted at various ages and interest groups. This position will also support the Program Coordinators in the further development of environmentally-focused programs and projects that are informative, engaging and dynamic for a variety of audiences and ages.
The Education Programmer will hold a minimum of a two-year diploma or two years of education or related experience particularly with respect to environmental sciences, biology, natural resources, conservation or education. Experience developing and delivering educational programs for a variety of ages is required. Equivalencies will be considered. The Education Programmer must possess a valid Standard First Aid (including AED) certificate.
$26.91 to $34.98 per hour
This is for two 6-month wage opportunities during the summer months. Applicants must be able to work evenings and weekends. Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications. This job opening may be used to fill current and future vacancies within Bow Habitat Station and the Government of Alberta.
