If you are a professional with strong abilities in working from a Family Centered practice, this is a temporary opportunity for you to join a dedicated team to provide supports and services to families in order to promote the child?s healthy growth and development.
The Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) program provides a range of proactive and family centered supports and services to assist families in caring for their children with disabilities including assistance with some of the extraordinary costs of raising a child with a disability. The family is an active partner with you in this relationship and will have opportunities to participate in all aspects of the process
As an FSCD Worker your responsibilities require enhanced engagement skills to effectively collaborate with others. You will have strong interview and assessment skills; be an effective communicator (orally, written and presentation); have excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills; be able to establish and maintain good working relationships with community partners; and be well-versed in negotiating and coordinating plans.
Bachelor of Social Work with some related experience; a related Social Science or Health degree plus two years related experience, or a related diploma plus three years related experience, will be considered. Equivalencies will be considered. You will require a working knowledge of the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act and Family Support to Children with Disabilities Act. Knowledge of community resources is also beneficial.
$2,368-$3,062 Biweekly (Based on $ 59,448.23 to $ 76,848.06 per annum)
This is a temporary position ending on March 31, 2015 with a good possibility of extension. This competition may be used to fill future vacancies.
Successful applicants who possess a BSW, MSW or Diploma in Social Work are required to register and maintain registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers. Transportation arrangements must meet operational requirements. Final candidates for this position will be asked to undergo a security screening and Children?s Services Intervention Check.
