Systems Analyst 1
Edmonton - Elections Alberta's mandate is to administer open, fair and impartial elections by providing stakeholders with the necessary information and means to participate in the democratic process. We also provide support to election officials to ensure impartial service delivery and serve in an advisory and regulatory role to achieve compliance in electoral finance activities.
Reporting to the Director, IT and Geomatics, you will be responsible for oversight of development of the Alberta Comprehensive Election System (ACES), which is responsible for the registration of electors, enumerations, and the administration of an election. The system was developed by an external contractor and you would work with the contractor as the corporate contact to ensure the system is user friendly and meets the business requirements of the office. You would also make recommendations for improvements to the system and test any changes made by the developer.
As a member of Elections Alberta's IT team, you will also be responsible for creating and documenting business rules and providing support for ETL, the provincial Register maintenance program. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential as you will provide training in a team setting and on an individual basis as well as providing help desk support.
University graduation in computer science or equivalencies with a 2 year related diploma and at least 2 years related experience or a 1 year certificate and 3 years related experience. A broad knowledge of database management systems (MS SQL Server, MS SQL Server Management Studio), working knowledge of C# and MS Visual Studio, along with knowledge of internal policies, procedures and forms related to Register management are highly desirable. Knowledge of cold fusion would be an asset.
$2,072.36 to $3,108.05 bi-weekly ($54,088 to $81,120 annually)
