Alberta Tourism, Parks & Recreation, West Central Region, Parks Division is looking for highly motivated, well-organized, responsible maintenance support personnel. These individuals will be part of a team accountable for providing maintenance and operational duties supporting the day-to-day facility operation of Provincial Parks and Provincial Recreation Areas.
The successful candidate must have excellent communication, organization and teamwork skills. The individual must be able to work both independently and as part of a team and show initiative in taking on and completing new and challenging assignments within set deadlines. We are looking for someone with strong interpersonal skills, and problem solving abilities. As part of the maintenance team, you will strive to maintain Alberta Parks' high infrastructure standards and ensure quality customer service and safety at all times.
This position will have duties both in the Park and in an office setting. The candidate will provide administrative support to the major and preventative maintenance programs for the West Central Team, including capital asset management program monitoring, records management, budget tracking and accounts payable processes. This position will also provide routine and preventative maintenance on all infrastructure, including trail systems, day use sites, backcountry sites and buildings, as well as general and minor repairs on Park facilities.
Some high school education and some related experience such as operation, maintenance and safety of small equipment, hand tools, power tools and plumbing, electrical and/or carpentry. Experience with Microsoft Office and other computer programs is a requirement. Certification in First Aid and Defensive Driving, a Q Endorsement and experience with a Skid Steer would be considered assets.
$21.06 - $25.53/ hr (Maintenance Service Worker 2)
$18.15 - $21.82/ hr (Maintenance Service Worker 1)
Based on 40 hour work week (plus 11.2% in lieu of benefits).
A valid Class 5 Driver's License is required. This position may involve laborious tasks, and the candidate must be capable of performing arduous physical tasks. The successful candidate will be required to provide a criminal record check and a driver?s abstract. This position may involve an irregular work schedule and the candidate must be willing and able to work out of town as required. This posting may be used to fill future vacancies.
This position will be based out of the Spruce Grove Office and the term is anticipated to be early April until early October dependent on operational requirements.
