Northern Alberta Development Council (NADC) advances the socio-economic development of the North. The NADC is looking for a creative, capable and collaborative team player to assist in advancing Alberta's North. In this role, you will work in the areas of research, analysis, information sharing, project management, and contribute to planning and decision making that affect Northern Alberta. Your contributions will further assist positioning Northern Alberta for the future.
Key functions include:
-Apply research techniques to collect information on topics related to northern socio-economic development;
-Analyze and report research results;
-Prepare briefing materials, news releases and presentations;
-Organize and facilitate meetings, focus groups and workshops;
-Assist in supporting projects and initiatives.
As this job involves networking across many industry sectors, excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for success. As the successful candidate, you will have thorough knowledge and experience in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, data management and effective communication sharing. Strong analytical, systems thinking and creative problem solving skills, as well as advanced organizational, time and project management skills are essential. Relationship building, agility and interpersonal skills will be most important in order to consult and collaborate with partners, stakeholders and contribute to multiple projects.
University degree in a related field (such as Political Science, Social Science, Business, Economics, Planning or a related field) plus 2 years progressively responsible related experience in research, analysis and supporting project management is a requirement. Experience in research on Northern communities is an asset. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (MSWord, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) is required. Equivalencies will be considered. Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower level of classification and salary.
$2,420.93 to $3,175.47 bi-weekly
Travel in northern Alberta is a requirement of the position; therefore the ability to travel and access to a reliable vehicle is required.
This competition may be used to fill current and future vacancies across government. It is recommended that applicants who have obtained educational credentials from outside of Canada and have not had them previously assessed, obtain an evaluation of their credentials from the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) -
