Are you looking for an opportunity to expand your skills and acquire a "big picture" view of the Region and its operations? Parkington Plaza is offering a unique opportunity to participate as the regional specialist for placement transition. In this position you will have a chance to make a difference to children and youth on both a micro and macro level. Reporting to the Manager, Parkington Plaza, you will have a significant role in supporting and monitoring complex placement services for Edmonton and Area Child & Family Services.
The Regional Placement Transition Specialist will be key in finding viable placement options for children and youth. As a program consultant to Regional staff in areas of placement policy and management, there is a high degree of independence in this position; confidence in your abilities is key to success.
As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate the ability to develop effective relationships with agencies, work collaboratively and facilitate joint planning processes. The ideal candidate will be someone who is able to work independently, as well as within a team setting to ensure that placement objectives and goals are met. You will act as the link between field staff, placement resources, community stakeholders, regional office and headquarters. As well, you will have the ability to multi-task and work within a high volume, results-oriented environment. Solid negotiation and problem-solving skills is required to be successful in this position, as is an understanding of complex placement issues for identification of gaps in services.
Bachelor of Social Work or related degree and a minimum of 4 years of directly related experience in child intervention is required. Experience with child intervention programs, and the Region's placement facilities and processes would be an asset. Exposure to special needs children of various ages and how their diagnoses impact placement would be desirable.
$2,692.53 - $3,486.76 Bi-weekly
In accordance with the Health Professions Act, any successful applicant who possesses a BSW, MSW, or Diploma in Social Work from an Alberta College is required to register and maintain registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers.
