Are you keenly interested in working together on meaningful projects that help build and maintain partnerships with Aboriginal communities and organizations? The Special Advisor is looking for a highly motivated and organized individual who can use their highly advanced administrative experience, computer software experience, and sound working knowledge of MS Office applications, to assist in advancing Aboriginal community engagement in the Northwest. This type of engagement often results in improved programs and services for Aboriginal children, youth and families.
In this role you will provide a variety of administrative support services to the Aboriginal Services Unit, CFSA Region 8. Your responsibilities will also include drafting and composing correspondence, minute taking, client services representative and general office support. You will be responsible for verification of information and data entry, records management and accounts payable.
High school diploma plus at least one year of administrative experience. Preference will be given to those applicants who possess knowledge of, or experience working with, Aboriginal communities, cultures, language and protocols. Your education and experience must be supplemented with experience that demonstrates an intermediate knowledge and skill in using Microsoft Office suite, particularly, Excel, MS Word and Outlook. The successful applicant must possess good communication, organization and time management skills, and strong computer skills. Post secondary education in Office Administration would be an asset. Equivalencies of education, training and experience may be considered. Travel throughout the Northwest is also a requirement of this position, the successful candidate will be required to have a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle that meets the requirements of the Authority.
Final candidates for this position will be asked to complete an Intervention Record Check prior to a formal offer being made. Academic credentials will also be verified.
It is recommended that applicants who have obtained educational credentials from outside of Canada and have not had them previously assessed, obtain an evaluation of their credentials from the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) -

$1,437.35- $1,749.11 Bi-Weekly
