The Kananaskis Region is looking for a highly motivated, organized, responsible maintenance worker. Reporting to the Facilities Team Leader this individual will work with a team accountable for providing diverse maintenance duties which support the day to day operation of facilities throughout the Kananaskis Region. Duties include the supervision, coordination and monitoring of maintenance activities as they relate to the daily needs at the facilities, including hands on work as required. Work includes building maintenance tasks in plumbing, electrical, carpentry etc. and janitorial functions. You will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of various pieces of equipment used for landscaping and snow removal.
The position will assist with the supervision and monitoring of staff and contractors completing work for the program.
As part of the Maintenance team you will strive to maintain the high standards of customer service, and will work to ensure the safety and well- being of our guests at all times. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, organization and teamwork skills. Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team, and show initiative in taking on and completing new and challenging assignments. Must be able to work within set deadlines and handle assignments simultaneously.
High school diploma and related building operation or maintenance training. Minimum 2 years experience directly related work in building and utility repairs/maintenance and janitorial activities. Experience in the operation and maintenance of various types of equipment is required. Computer skills in Microsoft Office, such as Outlook, Word and Excel is required. Experience with computerised Preventative Maintenance programs; W.H.M.I.S., First Aid, and Defensive Driver Training would be an asset. Experience working with the Occupational Health and Safety Act is an asset.
$1,779.24 - $2,174.20/bi-weekly ($46,438 - $56,746)
This is a permanent salaried 40-hour per week position that is typically scheduled to work weekends. Candidates must hold a valid Class 5 Driver's License. This position requires arduous labour and involves an irregular work schedule. Final candidates for this position will be required to undergo a security screening. Final candidates for this position may be required to work weekends and is subject to emergency call backs. Candidates must be physically able to lift and handle the equipment associated with this position.
