Office of the Ombudsman
Calgary - The Alberta Ombudsman provides oversight of the Provincial Government to ensure fair treatment through independent investigations, recommendations and education within Alberta government authorities, professional organizations and the patient concerns resolution process of Alberta Health Services.
The Investigator will research and analyze complaints, create summary reports of findings and present conclusions and recommendations to the Ombudsman.
For success in the position, you must possess exceptional consultation, negotiation, and analytical skills and demonstrate complex problem-solving ability. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills including report-writing and interview experience are essential. You will have demonstrated ability to analyze government programs, legislation and policies. Knowledge of the principles of administrative fairness and natural justice will contribute to your success. You will need to have experience working with people of varied backgrounds and demonstrate sound judgment.
Post-secondary education and related experience in consultation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills are required. The ability to research and analyze policy and legislation is necessary. Strong critical thinking, organization and written and oral communication skills are critical. Well-developed computer skills in MS Office are essential.
Bi-weekly Salary Range: $1,871.05 - $3,319.88
Annual Salary Range: $48,834.41 - $86,648.87
