We are looking for a highly motivated self-starter capable of working with people at many levels within the organization to meet the daily financial needs of line areas as they deliver their program services. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for implementing and monitoring the financial compliance and internal control review process for the Ministry. You will participate in complex review engagements to ensure that adequate systems of internal control and accountability are being maintained and operating effectively and efficiently and in compliance with relevant financial legislations and government policies and procedures. Your strong financial analysis skills and thorough understanding of internal control systems will assist you in performing periodic compliance reviews of financial systems and applications.
Utilizing your strong collaboration and network skills, you will liaise with other financial professionals within the Government of Alberta and consult with business units and program areas to develop policies and processes and implement GoA best practices.
University graduation in a related field (Accounting or Finance) combined with an accounting designation (CA, CGA, CMA) plus three years directly related experience. Working knowledge of financial system applications (IMAGIS) is required. Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) considered an asset. .Equivalencies will be considered.
$2,651.89 to $3,482.93 bi-weekly
