Build your career with the Government of Alberta in the department of Human Services. We are searching for positive, energetic and team focused individuals to help us build Alberta's workforce with this role.
In this position, you will be proactive in strengthening the Alberta labor market by guiding and assisting individual Albertans with career planning and occupational choices, planning for education and training, as well as supporting individuals with job search activities. By assessing career and employment needs and applying relevant labor market information, you will assist individuals in making informed career choices to enhance their employability, economic, cultural and social well-being.
What our ideal candidate will bring to the table:
Relationship Building: Develops and maintains win/win relationships and partnerships; builds effective working relationships, networks of contacts and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Communication: Clearly conveying and receiving messages to meet the needs of all. The ability to choose a communication style that is both appropriate and effective for a given situation.
Organizational Awareness: Understands business plan goals; aware of the current state and future direction of the organization.
Stakeholder Focus: Understanding and meeting or exceeding stakeholder needs.
Strategic Thinking: Taking a broad scale, long-term view, assessing options and implications; understands the strategic direction of the organization.
A related University Degree and several years of related experience. Education in the Career Development and or Human Services area is preferred. Experience in assisting a wide range of individuals with their career planning and work search is also preferred.
For individuals who have obtained educational credentials from outside of Canada, it is recommended that you obtain an evaluation of your credentials from the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) and include the IQAS assessment certificate as part of your application. Equivalencies will be considered however a minimum of a two-year Diploma is required.
$2,420.93 to $3,175.47 bi-weekly ($63,186 to $82,879 annually)
This position currently qualifies for the Parallel Retention bonus as outlined below:
This is a one year temporary position.
