We are looking for an individual committed to providing quality customer service to internal and external customers.
Reporting to the Manager of the Special Investigation Unit, this position plays an integral part in contributing to the success of the Maintenance Enforcement Program. This position is required to perform investigative duties in efforts to locate a chronic debtor and any assets they may own in efforts to bring individuals into compliance with their court order(s). These investigative duties are completed through the utilization of a variety of investigative techniques including Internet databases and face to face investigations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Determining likelihood of a chronic debtor becoming compliant with court order
- Negotiating payment arrangements to bring debtor into Good Payor status
- Preparing legal briefing notes and working closely with legal counsel
- Compiling evidence to support findings regarding debtors situation
- Performing investigative duties including research on relevant legislation, resources available, policies and procedures
- Providing liaison services with external agencies when assets are identified for disposal
- Executing orders and warrants and pursuing location of debtors through active field work
- Providing support to other areas within the Maintenance Enforcement Program as required
A University degree in a related discipline and a minimum of two years progressive experience in an environment such as fraud investigations, collections corporate security (actual investigations experience) or peace officer (actual investigation experience). Previous experience within a police environment or collections environment is also considered to be related.
Equivalencies will be considered.
$2,420.93 - $3,175.47 bi-weekly.
This is a permanent full-time position; however, this competition may be used to fill future permanent and temporary vacancies
Final candidates for this position will be asked to undergo a Security Screening.
