Does working with new legislation in a new team exploring new ways of doing business interest you? This could be the position for you.
Within the Public Safety Division, the Compliance Officer works with a team to promote compliance with the New Home Buyer Protection Act and investigates any issues of potential non-compliance across the province. This position supports several stakeholder groups by interpreting legislation and program policies and providing advice and education to increase awareness of the legislation and program requirements.
Familiarity with the New Home Buyer Protection Act, Safety Codes Act, Insurance Act, Condominium Property Act and the Fair Trading Act would be an asset. The ability to interpret and translate regulation and policy for our stakeholders, paired with influencing and investigative skills, will support you as you learn this new program. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
University graduation in a related field plus 2 years progressively responsible related experience. Experience in a compliance related work environment is preferred. Varied stakeholder interactions for the purpose of gaining compliance would also be considered an asset. Equivalencies will be considered on the basis of one year of education for one year of experience and/or one year of experience for one year of education.
$2,420.93 and $3,175.47 bi-weekly.
This is a one year temporary position with a possibility of extension.
