The Accountability Framework Unit at Municipal Affairs is responsible for the delivery of the Accountability Framework, Southern Alberta Flood Response Program (SAFRP), and program development, analysis, and reporting for municipal grant programs, and we have a very exciting career opportunity!

As a Grant Policy Advisor, you will provide advice on grant programs (including the SAFRP and Municipal Sustainability Initiative) to Alberta municipalities, analyze and evaluate grant proposals and applications, help prepare program proposals and implementation plans, research issues, and assist in the development and evaluation of policy options.
Working either independently or as part of a project team, you will support program delivery and assignments in a dynamic and high volume environment and implement ministry objectives. You will also participate in public meetings, stakeholder consultations and make presentations to municipal and provincial officials. Your multi-tasking skills and the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities while demonstrating a commitment to quality and accuracy will make you a success in this role. You will also assist the Municipal Grants Unit in program delivery during peak times to ensure branch priorities are completed in a timely manner.
This position requires familiarity with program delivery, an understanding of the issues facing municipalities, and proven consultation, communication, and problem solving skills.
University graduation in a related field such as Public Administration, Political Science, Business Administration, Economics, etc., with at least 4 years of progressively responsible related experience is required. This position also requires experience in policy development or program delivery. Previous experience with grant program administration, municipal stakeholders or contract management is preferred. Equivalencies will be considered.
$2,596.42 to $3,403.56 Bi-weekly
There are two Grant Policy Advisor positions available. This competition may be used to fill future vacancies at an equivalent or lower level. Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower classification and salary. Secondments will be considered.
