We have an opportunity in East Central Region 5 for a permanent Assessor in Camrose; for those who are interested in the front end of Child Intervention Services.
In the role of an Assessor, you will utilize your strong knowledge of the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act, the criminal code, family dynamics and community resources to complete assessments and make recommendations, which will impact the safety and protection of children and families.
Employing strong interviewing and assessment skills, you will collect information in order to determine the nature and the degree of risk to a child. Strong communication, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills are required in your intervention and counseling of consumers. Clear, effective oral and written communication skills are required in the development of service plans and presentation of documents for court. Faced with travel, stressful situations and irregular hours, you must be highly motivated and self-directed with strong time management and organizational skills.
This vacancy offers you the opportunity to make the community connections needed to support the well being of children and families. You will be working within a team, accountable for decisions and community partnerships. Preference will be given to those candidates who have received delegation training through Human Services Ministry.
Bachelor of Social Work with 1 year related experience; or equivalency of Master of Social Work and some related experience; or related university degree and 3 years related experience; or related diploma and 4 years related experience; or related certificate and 5 years related experience. Related child protection experience is required. Delegation under the Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act is preferred.
$2,474.49 - $3,198.43 bi-weekly
- Successful applicants who possess a BSW, MSW or Diploma in Social Work from an Alberta College will be required to be registered and maintain registration with the College of Social Workers.
- The successful candidate will be required to have a valid Alberta Driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle that meets the requirements of the Authority as travel will be required.
