Play a key leadership role in building the justice system of the future.
The Ministry of Justice and Solicitor General is one of the largest and most complex ministries in the Government of Alberta, playing a leading role across the spectrum of the justice system. The Manager of Business Planning and Reporting provides leadership to the Ministry all aspects of planning, reporting and performance measurement and leads a team of professional staff in this mission. You will work with partners across the Ministry to integrate planning processes, cascading from the highest level of strategic direction to the business plan and the operational level.
Key responsibilities will be:
- Engage the Executive Team in strategic planning;
- Work with divisional partners to develop a business plan that explains the Ministry's direction and priorities to Albertans;
- Develop a suite of performance measures that inform strategic decisions and communicate the Ministry's performance to stakeholders;
- Work with divisional partners to integrate all planning activities in the Ministry and develop the tools and process to ensure strategic direction is translated into operational actions;
- Report on corporate planning activities within the Ministry in a way that is meaningful to Executive Team and staff; and
- Develop the Ministry Annual Report and manage performance measure audits by the Office of the Auditor General.
Your background includes progressively responsible experience in public accountability, planning, reporting and evaluation in a complex organization. An understanding of the stakeholder community and the ability to develop strong business relationships with partners is required. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a history of leadership, relationship management and the ability to build collaborative environments and partnerships.
University graduation in a related field, such as Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related social sciences field is required. Progressively responsible related experience in planning, evaluation and reporting is required. Experience leading a team of professional staff in a large organization will be considered an asset.
Equivalencies will be considered.
$2,936.39 to $3,951.53 bi-weekly
This is a temporary, 15-month project that is expected to end on or before March 1, 2015. There is a possibility of extension.
