The Financial Planning Unit in the Financial and Corporate Services Division has two full time opportunities for motivated, results-oriented individuals. Reporting to a Senior Budget Analyst, you will work with a team of Budget Analysts in supporting the Ministry through the provision of forecasting and budgeting services. Working within the parameters of relevant Government legislation and Ministry objectives, your responsibilities will include analyzing forecasts; evaluating solutions to budget issues; and assisting in the management of grants in the Department. Strong analytical and communication skills will enable you to provide effective financial advice at all levels throughout the Department. To be successful, you must demonstrate sound interpersonal skills and the ability to multi-task and work under short deadlines. In addition, excellent problem solving, organizational and time management skills are essential in these positions.
University graduation in a related field (i.e. Commerce, Business Administration, Finance or Economics) plus a minimum of 2 years of related progressively responsible accounting, financial and budget administration experience is required. Equivalencies will be considered. The possession or enrolment in an accounting designation such as a CPA or equivalent is desired. Knowledge of Government budgeting and accounting practices and related experience with IMAGIS financial management applications is a definite asset.
$2,263.14 to $3,108.05 bi-weekly ($59,068 to $81,120 per annum)
These are permanent full time positions. This competition may be used to fill other current or future vacancies in various ministries throughout the Government of Alberta.
