Region 7 North Central Alberta Child & Family Services Authority is looking for a Generalist to serve as part of a new team supporting the Edson/Hinton office. The Generalist job is a combination of duties of the Assessor, Caseworker, and Intake Worker. Some of the responsibilities include determining whether a child is safe or in need of intervention services. The Generalist ensures services are provided to children and families through case planning and case conferences and establishing or enhancing existing relationships and partnerships. The Generalist can be the sole guardian of children with Permanent Guardianship Order Status and is responsible to plan for each child's permanent placement as well as work with the child for their transition to adulthood.
Bachelor of Social Work and 1 year related experience. Equivalencies will be considered. Equivalency: Masters of Social Work and some related experience; OR related university degree and 3 years related experience; OR related diploma and 4 years related experience. Candidates with lesser qualifications may be considered at a lower classification and salary.
As the Health Professions Act has been proclaimed, successful applicants who possess a BSW, MSW or Diploma in Social Work are required to register prior to commencement of employment and maintain registration with the College of Social Workers.
The successful candidate will be required to have a valid Alberta Driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle that meets the requirements of the Authority as travel will be required. The final candidate for this position will be asked to undergo academic verification, provide an Intervention Record Check, and provide a Criminal Records Check that includes a Vulnerable Sector check. The successful candidate will require working knowledge of Microsoft products.
$2,474.49 to $3,198.43 Bi-weekly
It is recommended that applicants who have obtained educational credentials from outside of Canada and have not had them previously assessed, obtain an evaluation of their credentials from the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) -
