Peace River Correctional Centre has an opportunity for an exceptional individual who can showcase their organizational, budgetary, supervisory, and problem solving skills in our fast paced environment.
Reporting to the Deputy Director of Administration, you will advise on all matters relating to the financial and administrative management functions of the Peace River Correctional Centre. Financial responsibilities include approving and monitoring expenses, compiling budgetary reports, forecasting Centre requirements, administering Centre payroll, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of trust account transactions, and overseeing purchasing and accounts payable activities. The Business Office Administrator is also responsible for a variety of administrative functions including defining work plans, administering contracted services, staffing and scheduling, managing inventory, coordinating technical services, maintaining Centre records and, as site coordinator, be responsible for information technology issues. You will provide guidance and supervision to three administrative support staff and ensure compliance with government policies and practices.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate excellent planning, analytical, budget/accounting management, conflict resolution, communication and interpersonal skills. Your problem solving skills will be a key part of your job as you identify long term issues, challenges and opportunities within the finance and administration areas.
Completion of a two year diploma in business administration or finance supplemented by several years of experience with budget/accounting management, purchasing, inventory control, records management, and supervision. Strong computer related experience with Microsoft products is required. Office management experience and prior government experience is considered an asset. Equivalencies will be considered.?
$1,910.26 - $2,485.01 bi-weekly
There is no public transportation to the Centre, so reliable private transportation is required. This job opening may be used to fill current and future vacancies across the Government of Alberta. Final candidates will be required to undergo a security screening.
