As a Policy Analyst within the Strategic Policy Unit of the Primary Health Care Branch you will support process design, coordination, and research for primary health care policy initiatives, such as the development and implementation of a Primary Health Care Strategy. In this role you will be responsible for conducting literature reviews, qualitative and quantitative analysis, and research support for the Division. In addition, a key component of this role is supporting public and stakeholder engagement and evidence-based policy development.
As the successful candidate, you have excellent writing skills and knowledge of policy development, planning, the legislative-process, and the decision-making process within a large organization. In addition, your understanding of health policy issues, research methods and the policy cycle will be an asset in this role. Creativity, flexibility and your demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders will be important success factors for this position. You also possess the ability to work strategically and simultaneously manage a wide variety of issues, organize resources and find innovative solutions to complex problems.
A University Degree in a related area such as health, social services or public policy with two (2) years progressively responsible experience in a policy development environment is required. Knowledge of government processes and current primary health care policy direction in Alberta is desirable. Equivalencies will be considered.
$2,420.93 to $3,175.47 bi-weekly ($63,186 to $82,879 per annum)
There is one permanent full-time position available within this branch. This competition may be used to fill a number of future vacancies in various ministries throughout the Government of Alberta.
