Many players, one Alberta Team solution - this is who we are in the International Partnerships Division. As the Intern, Research Officer for the Alberta Research and Innovation Authority (ARIA) you will work with the Director to identify high priority international issues and trends in research and innovation policy that will secure Alberta's economic and social future and strengthen Alberta's presence on the international stage. ARIA is an international group of experts with a mandate to provide the Minister of EAE with advice on research and innovation policy.

If so, this internship is for you! As a member of the International Partnership Division you will work in a dynamic and cohesive team environment that will have you supporting a number of exciting and interesting initiatives that are part of the Alberta Research and Innovation Authority (ARIA). You will be completing a variety of scanning, analysis, writing and presentation projects. Working closely with diverse Ministry staff you will also be supporting bi-annual ARIA meetings and ARIA subcommittees.
As the successful candidate you will have superior research, analysis and critical thinking skills. In addition, you will have excellent communication skills (both written and visual), a good understanding of technology as it pertains to databases and their functionality as well as the ability to use different technology platforms to complete environmental scanning and engage target audiences. Your strong interpersonal skills will allow you to establish and maintain effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders. Excellent organizational and time management skills as well as the ability to work both independently and in a high performing team environment are also required to be successful in this position.
A related post-secondary degree is required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (SharePoint, Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) is required. Experience with database management, drawing tools, and working with international business or academic groups are considered assets. Knowledge of Alberta's post-secondary, research and innovation systems and an understanding of public policy development will also be considered assets. Equivalencies will be considered.
$1,951.38 to $2,536.65 Bi-weekly (Approximately $50,931 - $66,206 per annum)
To qualify as an Intern, you must have graduated from a post-secondary institution within the past two (2) years. This is a two (2) year temporary position. This competition may be used to fill current and future vacancies at the same or lower classification levels across government.
