The Edmonton Region Community Board (PDD Edmonton) is part of the Persons with Developmental Disabilities Program within the Ministry. We work in partnership with individuals, families, guardians, service providers, advocacy organizations, the community and other allies to support adults with developmental disabilities to live their lives as full citizens in their communities. We strive to provide quality services which lead to positive outcomes for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Reporting to the Manager, Service Delivery Unit, the Team Leader will be responsible for supporting and monitoring a team of PDD Service Coordinators and Contract Specialists in the application of provincial operational policies and standards. In this position you will be responsible for monitoring the performance of the PDD Service Coordinators and their job functions. You will provide oversight and expertise to resolve challenging issues relating to services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and ensure services are coordinated in the best interests of individuals in the context of a tight fiscal environment and the PDD Transformational Change. As a liaison to the management team, you will translate strategic direction into aligned operational processes.
Your strong communication, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills will serve you well as you handle a variety of challenging situations. Your exemplary leadership, analytical and organizational skills will be the key to your success in this dynamic role.
Bachelor of Social Work and 2 years' related experience or university graduation in Social Sciences with a minimum of 4 years of recent related experience is required. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working with a related client group and/or relevant disability programs (i.e. Assured Income for Severely Handicapped, Persons with Developmental Disabilities, Children and Youth Services). Case management experience is desirable. Supervisory experience will be considered an asset. Equivalencies will be considered.
$2,692.53 to $3,486.76 bi-weekly ($70,275 to $91,004 per annum)
Travel within the Region is a requirement of this position therefore the successful candidate must have a valid Alberta Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle. Final candidates for this position will be asked to undergo a security screening. This competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same and/or lower classification and salary level across the Government of Alberta.
