Are you looking for an opportunity to expand your skills and acquire a "big picture" view of the Region and its operations? Parkington Plaza is offering a unique opportunity to participate in collaborative placement coordination and planning on behalf of children and youth in need of out-of-home placement. In this position you will have a chance to make a difference to children and youth on both a "micro" and "macro" level. Reporting to the Supervisor of the Placement Co-ordination Intake Unit, you will have a significant role in supporting and monitoring placement services for Edmonton and Area Child & Family Services.
In this role you will communicate and collaborate with a broad stakeholder group including NCCYF staff, foster/group care agency and authority staff. Your ability to draw information from a broad stakeholder group to ensure accurate information for placement/matching and permanency planning purposes will be essential to you in this role.The ideal candidate will require sound analytical/critical thinking skills and the ability to work with competing interests and ideas. Your strong organizational skills and computer skills will also be crucial to your success in this role.
BSW/MSW with some related experience working with children, families and caregivers. Knowledge and experience in family assessment is essential. Your background and knowledge child development, CYFE Act, child protection, out of home resources, permanency planning and collaborative practice will also be an asset to this role. Casework experience would be an asset. Equivalencies will be considered.
As per the Health Professions Act, successful applicants who possess a MSW, BSW or Social Work Diploma are required to register and maintain registration with the Alberta College of Social workers.
$2,277.71 - $2,944.37 Bi-weekly
- This is a temporary-salaried position expected to end on or before October 16, 2014
