The Primary Health Care Branch, within the Primary Health Care division, has the lead role within Alberta Health for system-level strategic and policy directions related to primary health care, including implementation of new and innovative primary care models based on objectives for health care reform, the development of a provincial primary health care strategy, and the evaluation, reporting of program results and achievements.

As a Policy Analyst, Performance and Evaluation, you will have the opportunity to work with various internal and external stakeholders to increase capacity for evaluation and performance measurement. You will contribute to the implementation of the Primary Health Care Evaluation Framework within various primary health care models.
Specifically, you will support the creation of performance measures and related data collection systems for Primary Care Networks and Family Care Clinics. You will be responsible for data analysis and will contribute to the design and compilation of meaningful reports based on policy and operational requirements. These reports will inform policy, standards, quality improvement projects, and strategies for Alberta?s primary health care system.
As the successful candidate, you have excellent writing skills and the ability to understand and apply evaluation frameworks in the primary health care setting. Your demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders will be an important success factors for this position.
You will enjoy working independently and in a team environment as well possess strong analytical ability, problem solving skills and have highly effective planning and time management skills.
A University Degree in a related area such as health, social services, public policy or management with four (4) years progressively responsible experience in performance management or evaluation is required. Knowledge of government processes and current primary health care policy direction is desirable. Project management training would be an asset. Equivalencies will be considered.
$2,596.42 to $3,403.56 bi-weekly ($67,766 to $88,832 per annum)
There is currently one temporary full-time position for 2 years available within this branch. This competition may be used to fill a number of future vacancies in various ministries throughout the Government of Alberta. Secondment opportunities will be considered.
