Join our team in the Teaching Excellence Branch and contribute to building enhanced mechanisms for inspiring teaching excellence in Alberta's K-12 classrooms. As Education Consultant, you will work with our team to lead a collaborative and coordinated approach among stakeholders, partners, and sectors in the development of provincial legislation, regulations, standards, and policies for matters related to growth, supervision, and evaluation of professions and occupations in education.
The Education Consultant must have strong project management skills where teams of staff, stakeholder and contracted resources are provided with guidance, vision, and mentorship. Within the context of division and branch standards, this position is also responsible for supporting and executing processes where extensive stakeholder involvement is an essential component of professional standard and competency development. Leadership and diplomacy are required to promote understanding and consensus between parties with multiple perspectives, interests, and priorities.
The Education Consultant brings an in-depth understanding of Inspiring Education and direct involvement in related transformation initiatives (local or provincial). In order to contribute to moving our system forward, the Education Consultant must have knowledge of relevant policies and legislation such as the School Act; Teaching Profession Act; Certification of Teachers Regulation; Teaching Quality Standard Ministerial Order; and Teacher Growth, Supervision and Evaluation Policy.

This position requires a valid Alberta permanent professional teaching certificate, Master's degree related to education or an undergraduate degree with 2 years of experience in critically reviewing and applying research and at least five years related experience in education with increasing levels of responsibility and administrative experience. In addition, knowledge and experience in project planning and in-depth understanding of Inspiring Education and direct involvement in related transformation initiatives (local or provincial) and knowledge of policy and legislation relative to professionals and para-professionals who lead, support and provide instruction in Alberta is essential.
$2,883.80 to $3,859.72 bi-weekly ($75,267 to $100,738 annually)
