Child and You Care Worker 1C
Become a Child and Youth Care Counsellor and share the vision of building "strong children, youth, families and communities where children and youth are valued, nurtured and loved." The Yellowhead Youth Centre is a residential treatment facility for adolescents with significant or severe emotional and behavioural disturbances and we are currently looking to hire permanent salaried and temporary salaried Male Child & Youth Care Counselors to join our therapeutic case management team.
Working as an integral member of the team, you will be responsible for participating in the development and evaluation of individual treatment plans, monitoring and recording behaviours and overseeing and arranging daily activities. You will also function as a role model and provide direct supervision to residents. To be successful in this position, you must demonstrate strong theoretical knowledge of child care practices; assessment abilities, treatment and behavioural management, as well as excellent communication and observation skills.
This position requires a candidate who is available to work days/afternoon shifts on a six on and three off schedule, which includes weekends.
Degree or Diploma in Child and Youth Care or related field is required. Related experience working in a residential setting is an asset. Current first aid certificate, crisis intervention training, suicide intervention training and/or experience working with Aboriginal children and families are considered assets. Candidates with full or intermediate certification with the Child and Youth Care Association of Alberta will be given preference. Equivalencies will be considered.

$2,012.59 - $2,579.68 Bi-weekly
- Final candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment checks including medical checks, security screening and an Intervention Services Record check.
