Justice and Solicitor General
The Court of Appeal hears appeals from the Court of Queen's Bench, the Provincial Court and administrative tribunals. As well, the Court provides its opinion on questions referred by the Lieutenant Governor under the Judicature Act.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to work in our busy office. This position provides comprehensive administrative support for the judges of the Court of Appeal.
The position responsibilities include the following:
- Research case citations and locate and check quotations
- Produce judgments from creation to filing
- Research and draft correspondence and memoranda
- Manage Judges' calendars and oversee the sitting assignments
- Make travel arrangement for Judges
- Respond to inquiries from various agencies
- Attend committee meetings with Judges (organize, prepare agenda, take minutes, etc.)
A high degree of independence, accuracy, confidentiality, tact and diplomacy is required. Excellent keyboarding and grammar skills, attention to detail and knowledge of the court system and process are also required.
Two year diploma in a related field (e.g. Legal Assistant Diploma), plus a minimum of one year progressively responsible related administrative or senior legal secretarial experience.
Experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and/or Novell GroupWise is required. Knowledge of the court system is also required. Equivalencies will be considered.
$1,868.66 to $2,297.57 bi-weekly
This competition may be used to fill both permanent and temporary full time or part-time positions for current and future vacancies.
Final candidates may be required to undergo a security screening.
