Senior Manager, (Band 2, Zone 1)
We are seeking an experienced senior high school teacher with a strong commitment to excellence and accountability in education, to serve as the Team Leader for Science 30 in the Diploma Examinations Program. As the Team Leader, you will oversee the development, administration, and scoring of provincial diploma examinations in Science 30. You will apply your leadership skills in a challenging and changing environment. Your key responsibilities will be to manage the design, development, validation, and scoring of examinations and manage the allocated budget. As Team Leader, you will chair committees; manage validation processes for questions, test materials and final forms of examinations; review tests and examinations to ensure technical and curricular validity; administer field tests; produce communication documents; and supervise the Science 30 Examiner. You will play a key role in setting, communicating and maintaining high standards. Team work and exceptional communication skills are essential to all aspects of your work within Learner Assessment, with others in Alberta Education, and with teachers and school officials.
Reporting to the Director, Diploma Program Branch, you will also provide advice, recommendations and review of designs, standards, questions, and materials for the other diploma examination courses, as well as contribute to various Alberta Education projects and committees.
This position requires excellent writing, speaking and organizational skills; the ability to attend to detail; a strong background in Science 30, curriculum and assessment; experience with managing budgets; and computer skills.
A Bachelor of Education, and a valid Alberta permanent professional teaching certificate. A minimum of six years experience teaching senior high school science courses, including Science 30, is required. Related leadership and administrative experience at the school, school authority, and/or the provincial level is also required.
$3.214.68 - $4,386.18 bi-weekly ($83,903. - $114,479. annually)
