We are committed to ongoing improvement and pursuit of excellence in services to children, youth and families. Our Casework Practice Model is based on the philosophy that children, youth and families should have input into the decisions that affect their lives.
The Caseworker will engage and collaborate with the family, along with the Assessor and the service team members, to develop the case plan undertaking ongoing assessment of the children and youth at risk, and the family?s ability to inform and build the case plan utilizing a strengths-based approach to provide and manage services within specified timeframes to mitigate risk. The Caseworker engages families, helps them to understand their situation, and works with them to address issues causing the child to be in need of intervention. This position engages child/youth, family and community supports to reduce risk to child/youth, promote permanency and better outcomes for child/youth and families. It also establishes or enhances existing relationships and partnerships in order to provide services to children and their families. The Caseworker is also responsible for preparing parents and children for court and preparing all necessary court documents.
To be effective in these roles, strong communication, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills are required in your intervention and counseling of clients. Strong oral and written communication skills would be utilized in the development of the service plans and presentation of documents for court. Faced with stressful situations and irregular hours, the successful candidates will need to be highly motivated and self-directed with strong time management and organization skills to be considered an asset to our team.
Bachelor of Social Work with some related experience, OR a Masters of Social Work with no experience; OR a related university degree and 2 years related experience; OR a related diploma and 3 years related experience.
$2,368.82 - $3,062.14 bi-weekly
As the Health Professions Act has been proclaimed, successful applicants who possess a BSW, MSW or Diploma in Social Work are required to register prior to commencement of employment and maintain registration with the College of Social Workers.
The successful candidate will be required to have a valid Alberta Driver?s license and access to a reliable vehicle that meets the requirements of the Authority as travel will be required. The final candidate for this position will be asked to undergo academic verification, provide an Intervention Record Check, and provide a Criminal Records Check that includes a Vulnerable Sector check. The successful candidate will require working knowledge of Microsoft products.
