Enterprise and Advanced Education

The Ministerial Correspondence Unit (MCU) performs a highly visible and critical function within the Ministry, and is looking for a new grad looking to start their career with us.
In this role, you will be responsible for editing and writing correspondence and briefings for the Premier, the Minister, other Ministers and government MLAs and the Deputy Minister. The incumbent prepares responses in consultation with department staff and assists them in responding to action requests. You will maintain an issues awareness to assist the MCU in responding appropriately to emerging trends.
To be successful, you will be a collaborator and be client focused. You must be able to develop relationships with the intent of achieving effective delivery of relevant services, while maintaining mutually beneficial relationships. You will also need to be a systems thinker, learn government priorities and be adaptable to change. Your judgment, self management and strategic thinking will assist you with prioritizing your work in alignment with organizational goals and to ask the right questions, challenging the status quo.
In this fast-paced environment, you will need to draw upon your superior communication and time management skills. You will also need to adhere to the writing standards for government in general and elected officials in particular.
University graduation within 2 years in a related field is required. Writing and editing experience, as well as experience with ARTS would be considered an asset. Equivalencies will be considered.
$2,113.48 - $2, 772.38 bi-weekly ($55,161 - $72,359 per annum)
This is a one year temporary position.
