If you are an energetic, self motivated individual then we would like you to be a part of our team. The Calgary Remand Centre has two casual/on-call opportunities for a Stores Clerk.
You will be part of a team responsible for maintaining the operation of the Inmate Stores and/or the Loading Dock. This involves receiving and issuing various inmate personal effects; recording and issuing the receipt and release of inmate property including cell effects, hygiene products and cleaning supplies both in the stores area and in the inmate living units; and maintaining stock inventory levels. You will be in contact with other provincial and federal institutions regarding the shipping and receiving of inmate property, along with preparing all shipping documentation. You will also respond to public inquiries related to the release of property and cell effects.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and a confident demeanor are essential as you will work directly with inmates upon admission and discharge. Your strong documentation skills, coupled with the ability to meet deadlines will guarantee your success in this role. You will be required to work rotational (day, afternoon and night) shifts Monday to Friday.
High school diploma plus experience with stock keeping or warehousing. Microsoft-based application experience and previous government experience are assets. Heavy lifting is required. Equivalencies considered.
$20.19 - $24.54 per hour
Final candidates for this opportunity will be asked to undergo a security screening. You will be eligible for the Correctional Institutions Salary Allowance for each day worked and shift differential. The Calgary Remand Centre is located at 12200 - 85th Street N.W., Calgary. Your own transportation is required as there is no public transportation to the Centre. Parking is free. This job posting may be used to fill future vacancies.
