Justice and Solicitor General
An exciting and challenging opportunity exists as an Instructional Design Specialist within the Court Services Division of Alberta Justice and Solicitor General. This position is responsible for the design, development, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of effective training programs, e-courses and curriculum on both large-scale, province-wide initiatives and specific projects. Training programs are based on Court Services training model which includes online, technology enhanced, classroom-based and on-the-job training programs; designed to accelerate learning of new hires and maintain knowledge levels of existing staff.
Your strong research and analytical skills will help you in your examination of current organizational environments, existing and emerging technologies and their potential benefits within a training program. Due to your involvement with the design and implementation of training programs, project management, creative problem solving, agility, well developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and various subject matter experts are essential. This position requires you to be the sole expert in program/course design and development and as such requires the ability to work independently and creatively in a small team with minimum supervision. Working knowledge or understanding of eLearning, multi-media elements such as graphics and animation, Macromedia Flash, Adobe Suite, Captivate, HTML coding and/or JAVA and Flash animation would be an asset.
A university degree in a related field, such as Adult Education or Instructional Design, with at least four years of experience in developing education or training programs for adult learners is required. Master's degree in Adult Education, Curriculum Development or Instructional Design would be an asset. Equivalencies will be considered.
$2,596.42 - $3,403.56 bi-weekly
This is a two-year temporary position. This competition may be used to fill future permanent and temporary vacancies.
