Calgary - If you are an energetic, self motivated individual then we would like you to be a part of our team. The Calgary Correctional Centre has a casual/on-call opportunity for an Operational Services 2 position working in Inmate Property, Inmate Clothing, Duty Driver and Bursar Stores.
You will be part of a team responsible for maintaining the operation of the Inmate Stores and/or the Loading Dock. This involves receiving and issuing various inmate personal effects; recording and issuing the receipt and release of inmate property including cell effects. Tracking of inmate property will be completed on the computer using the ORCA computer program. Issue inmate clothing and bedding to offenders and maintain stock inventory levels. You will be in contact with other provincial institutions regarding the shipping and receiving of inmate property, along with preparing all shipping documentation. You will also respond to public inquiries related to the release of property and cell effects. Additionally, you will be required to perform the role of Duty Driver delivering and picking up mail and/or bins along with other various items from the Centres.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, communication skills and a confident demeanor are essential as you will work directly with inmates upon admission/discharge and in Inmate Clothing. Your proficient documentation skills, and computer skills coupled with the ability to meet deadlines will guarantee your success in this role.
High school diploma plus experience with stock keeping or warehousing. Microsoft-based application experience, computer experience and previous government experience are assets. Heavy lifting is required. Must have a valid Driver's License. Equivalencies considered.
$20.19 to $24.54 per hour
Final candidates for this opportunity will be asked to undergo a security screening. You will be eligible for the Correctional Institutions Salary Allowance for each day worked. . This job posting may be used to fill future vacancies.
