Alberta Works - Are you interested in working in a busy, client-service oriented office as a vital member of a team? We have excellent opportunities for individuals who are able to set priorities and meet deadlines while providing information and administrative support services to the Alberta public.
You will utilize your exceptional organizational, interpersonal and communication skills and produce quality work in a team environment and provide information to Albertans about programs and services.
Responsibilities include being first point of contact for walk-ins or telephone inquiries, providing information in response to general inquiries, including information on eligibility criteria, referrals to other agencies or organizations, reviewing application forms and other documents for completeness and accuracy as well as advising on the status of applications and the application process. Other duties will include filing, word processing, data entry, mail and other support as required.
Successful candidates will exercise discretion in handling confidential information, strong interpersonal and customer service skills, establish and maintain strong working relationships, remain organized and possess excellent communication skills. Time management and sound decision making are vital in this fast-paced, complex environment. Our ideal candidate will take initiative and be innovative in improving office and administrative procedures.

High school diploma and one year of directly related experience. Preference may be given to candidates possessing an office administration diploma. Experience in Microsoft Office including Word and Outlook is required, as well as experience with reception, data entry and filing. Experience using Government of Alberta software (e.g. LISA, CCD, and MOBIUS, etc.) are assets. Equivalencies will be considered.
$19.82 - $24.12 per hour
* Interivews will be held on July 17 2013. (Immediate start date.)
* This position is a wage part-time with probability of the first 3 weeks having full-time hours, afterwards only part-time hours are available.
* Occasional travel is a requirement of this position therefore the successful candidate must hold a valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle.
* This competition may be used to fill current and future vacancies at the same or lower classification level in various ministries throughout the Government of Alberta.
* Final candidates will be asked to undergo security screening.
