Region 5 East Central Alberta Child and Family Services Authority is continuing to succeed at creating a safe and nurturing community for its children and families. Its case management model, as defined by The Child, Youth and Family Enhancement Act and the Authority Business and Operational plans, is focused on involving parents and children in making decisions about positive outcomes for themselves, and on developing local and regional teams and partnerships to provide services to children and families. This model has been very rewarding in that children, families and communities have all benefited from a greater involvement in the development of a nurturing community environment and a higher level of accountability in all areas of the community.
As a Caseworker, you will be responsible for the delivery of services to enhance the well-being of children and families identified as at risk according to the Child, Youth & Family Enhancement Act. Utilizing your strong assessment skills to determine the needs and risk of children and families for providing child intervention services is an important component of this role. You will facilitate goal identification; service needs with consumers, and assist the family to achieve networks that improve safety, security and development. You will negotiate social contracts, identify service gaps, monitor and evaluate quality of service and outcomes, and promote capacity building within the community. An ability to work productively in a semi-autonomous work team and to develop complex networks and partnerships with a variety of community sources are essential for this role.
Bachelor of Social Work with some related experience working with children and families or a Masters of Social Work. Knowledge and experience in family assessment is essential. Experience working with provincial acts and regulations is considered an asset. Equivalencies will be considered: related university degree and 2 years related experience; OR related diploma and 3 years related experience OR related certificate and 4 years related experience.
Bi-Weekly Salary Range: $2,368.82 - $3,062.14
? Successful applicants who possess a BSW, MSW or Diploma in Social Work from an Alberta College is required to be registered and maintain registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers prior to commencement of employment.
? The successful candidate will be required to have a valid Alberta Driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle that meets the requirements of the Authority as travel will be required.
? Final candidates will be required to complete a Criminal Record Check (CRC) and an Intervention Record Check, as well as, academic credentials will also be verified prior to a formal offer being made.
? The temporary position for Camrose is due to expire on or before February 14, 2014.
? The temporary position for Lloydminster is due to expire on or before May 6, 2014.
