An exciting opportunity exists within the Ministry of Infrastructure to lead and support the areas of financial reporting, financial operations, and overall contributions to Ministry and corporate initiatives. Reporting to the Senior Financial Officer, this position is responsible for overseeing the preparation and audit of the Ministry's annual financial statements, assisting senior leaders in discharging governance and accounting responsibilities, and ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of financial services to all branches throughout the Ministry. Strong accounting and financial management knowledge is required to maintain prudent business practices and internal controls, while also designing and implementing policies and procedures to improve ministry accountability.
Managing both your team and stakeholders, applicants must have the ability to build solid, on-going working relationships within the organization, with other ministries across government, with Treasury Board & Finance and with the Office of the Auditor General in order to provide financial management, policy and analytical services to the Ministry of Infrastructure. The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) standards, as well as highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
A university degree in a related discipline, a professional accounting designation and a minimum of seven years of experience in progressively responsible financial positions is required. Previous supervisory experience is also required. Equivalencies considered. Experience in IMAGIS or PeopleSoft financials is preferred.
$3,871.67 to $4,916.45 bi-weekly ($101,050 to $128,319 annually)
