As a forward thinking Ministry with a strong focus on health system accountability and sustainability, Alberta Health sets the strategic direction for Alberta?s health system and is a leader in strengthening the measurement and reporting of health system performance. Under the Strategic Services Division, the Planning, Measuring and Reporting Branch is responsible for advancing accountability relative to Ministry and health system performance. Primary functions of the Branch include scanning, planning, measuring, monitoring and reporting. Accomplishing this mandate requires strong stakeholder linkages and relationships, both internally and externally, so as to promote and support quality, accountability and continuous improvement in the health system.

Reporting to the Director, Performance Measurement, this position will manage the implementation of effective processes to collect, analyze, synthesize and report in order to provide ongoing expert advice on performance measurement of Alberta's Health System. This position is responsible for performance measurement related functions for the Ministry, Government of Alberta and Alberta Health Services' Business Plans and Annual Reports as well as maintenance of the Performance Measures Information System. This position is also responsible for assisting in the implementation of the Outcome and Measurement Framework and developing summary reports on the performance of Alberta?s health care system. Main duties include: timely input into key government accountability documents, integration of the Outcomes and Measurement Framework, building effective relationships with external agencies, periodic reporting on health system performance, and supervising the Measuring and Reporting team (2 Program Services 3 positions).
As the successful candidate, you have strong analytical, problem solving, negotiation and conflict management skills. You have superior leadership, team building and supervisory skills. Outstanding written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills are required. Familiarity with research methods, statistical analyses and policy development are also required.
University Degree in Business, Economics, Social/Health Sciences, Public Policy/Administration or another related field plus a minimum of 4 years of related experience is required. Experience in the development and implementation of performance measures for Business Plans, Annual Reports, Public Reporting, Audits, etc is also required. Experience supervising staff and leading teams in complex projects is needed. Public Service and/ or Health experience is considered an asset. Equivalencies may be considered.
$2,596.42 to 3,403.56 bi-weekly, ($67,766 to 88,832 annually)
